SWAYworkplace, under the leadership of  Founder Denise Brouder,  moved is building its workplace experience platform from coworking space Business Energy in Westfield.

TRENTON, N.J. (January 29, 2020) – The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) announced today that the female-owned SWAYworkplace (SWAY) has joined the growing list of startups benefiting from the NJ Ignite program. SWAY, which creates a workplace experience platform, moved to Business Energy in Westfield in late 2019.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Denise Brouder, SWAY is building a digital platform to power the work-as-a-lifestyle movement and advocate for a work model that is based on choice and built on trust — a virtual community where people support each other and create an online diverse and inclusive workplace. The platform is home to an online community of workers who are embracing the company’s motto: Learn. Act. Connect. Support. and seeking to eliminate location and time barriers and bias. The company prides itself on developing a future-ready platform for its community members looking to upskill, learn agile working techniques, connect with progressive companies and network within the community.

“Technology is changing the way people work and has provided an unprecedented opportunity to collectively reimagine where, how, and why we work in a way that eliminates traditional barriers & bias and builds a sustainably diverse workplace.” Brouder said. “At SWAY, we are eager to start growing our business and experiencing the collaborative learning benefits at Business Energy. NJ Ignite has provided us with an amazing opportunity to expand our company and work side-by-side with like-minded professionals.”

Launched by partners Matt and Beth Jarecki, and Steve Silverman, Business Energy is a coworking and networking community for business professionals. Located on Lenox Avenue, Business Energy is steps away from Westfield’s train station, post office, and numerous shops and restaurants. The modern, bright, and newly-renovated space includes individual work stations, private offices, a conference room available with daily or monthly rates, and a venue for networking and educational events.

NJ Ignite helps technology and life sciences startups realize the benefits of collaborative workspaces by providing up to nine months of rent support for startup technology and life sciences businesses that are moving to an approved collaborative workspace. The program is made possible through a combination of support from the NJEDA and the collaborative workspace, with the NJEDA covering up to six months’ rent and the collaborative workspace covering rent for half the length of NJEDA’s commitment.

“Governor Phil Murphy has been leading the charge when it comes to bolstering opportunities for female entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses,” NJEDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Sullivan said. “Through programs like NJ Ignite and the newly-expanded Angel Investor Tax Credit Program, as well as the creation of a New Jersey chapter of Golden Seeds in partnership with First Lady Tammy Murphy, we’re working with the public and private sectors to give these companies the resources they need to flourish in the Garden State.”
