Health Care Coverage

The NJEDA offers comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage to meet an array of needs and/or situations.

Paid Leave Time

The NJEDA offers paid leave time annually for illness (15 days), vacation (minimum of 15 days), and personal time (3 days). In addition, 12 holidays are recognized per year.

Disability

Short-term disability benefits are provided through the State of NJ for up to 26 weeks per calendar year. Long-term disability is provided at no cost to the employee.

Life Insurance

Basic Life Insurance provides a benefit of 1 ½ times annual base earnings. Coverage of an additional 1 ½ times salary is available with an employee contribution of approximately ½ percent of salary

Professional Development and Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition reimbursement is provided for approved work-related courses of study. Reimbursement may also be provided for professional organization memberships.

Flexible Spending

An account may be established with tax-deferred dollars to pay medical expenses not covered by insurance and for dependent care, both to a maximum established by law.

Pension Plan

All Authority employees are required to be enrolled in the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System. This is a contributory, defined-benefit retirement plan. The amount of the employee’s contribution is determined by earnings and the retirement benefit is determined by years of service and earnings

Deferred Compensation

Employees may set aside a portion of earnings on a regular basis into an investment account for retirement, which is exempt from federal income tax until withdrawn

Employee Assistance Service

Confidential counseling is available by an external service to help employees and their family members resolve personal or work-related issues.

Hybrid Work Schedule

The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the “New Jersey First Act”, which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Community Committment

When you join the NJEDA, not only do you find a career but you become part of a community as well. You will have the opportunity to join us in various community service projects and volunteer engagements.


Holiday Coat and Toy Drives

No one should be left unprepared for winter. NJEDA employees have participated in coat and toy drives for families in need during the holiday season.

Food Banks and Soup Kitchens

Many in our community are battling hunger. NJEDA employees have put in time at a food bank and have fed members of the local community at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.

NJWELL

NJWELL is a wellness program offered to active employees of the public sector who participate in the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) or School Employees’ Health Benefits Program (SEHBP) and their covered spouses/partners.
