The System for Award Management, or SAM, is a government-wide portal that consolidates multiple systems and information sources used by the federal government in conducting the acquisition and financial assistance for cooperative agreements and grants. In order to do sell your products or services to the federal government as a contractor, you are required to register your business in SAM. There is never any cost to register in SAM and free help is available for those who need it at a local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in their geographical area.
