Business leaders are mounting a push to help minority- and women-owned businesses share in the benefits of the Super Bowl next year.
The first major event in the effort will take place in Newark on Feb. 26, organized by Business Connect, a program set up by the Super Bowl organizers to educate small and minority businesses on how to get a piece of the action when Super Bowl XLVIII is held at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands next February.
The event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center will include a workshop on how businesses can get certified to do work for the Super Bowl, and what types of work will be available.
