NJ ZIP – Phase 2 Vendor Application Walk-Thru and Q&A

Vendors who intend to participate in the New Jersey Zero Emission Incentive Program (NJ ZIP) are invited to join us for one of two scheduled webinars, either on September 20 OR September 22 to learn about the expanded NJ ZIP program. Phase 2 of NJ ZIP features expanded eligibility, updated application processes, new program timelines, and the mandatory Vendor application required to participate. NJ ZIP is a voucher-style incentive program designed to help New Jersey businesses and institutions purchase new, zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles operating in New Jersey. Base vouchers will range from $20,000 - $175,000, based on vehicle class, with additional bonuses available. Both current NJ ZIP Phase 1 Vendors and new potential vendors who plan to participate in Phase 2 are encouraged to attend. Though the general methodology for voucher application and approval from Phase 1 of the pilot will be maintained in Phase 2, this new phase of NJ ZIP will incorporate strategic changes to minimize application friction and increase efficiency. Phase 2 also includes two major eligibility changes: It expands the program to businesses and institutions statewide and also expands eligibility to include heavy-duty vehicle classes. Phase 2 will open first with Vendor applications, followed later by Purchaser applications. To participate in NJ ZIP Phase 2, Vendors will need to apply to become approved Vendors during this limited initial window. As Phase 1 of NJ ZIP has different eligibility requirements, even Phase 1 approved vendors must reapply for Phase 2. On this webinar, NJEDA staff will walk through Vendor eligibility, the application process, and these other changes. Purchasers will be invited to a purchaser-specific webinar hosted later this year.
